An exhibition curated an organised by Emily Stevenhagen and Clara Sharell (WaitingSnake Studios)
Amare, Den Haag (May, 2023).
This exhibition brought together young artists based in The Hague, who met working in the horeca team at Amare. Six up-and-coming artists display their paintings, photographs, and more in the shelves behind the bars around the building. The exhibition showcased the creative background of people who serve the public everyday, within the framework of the building where they met, and spend much of their time.
Participating artists: Thomas van Poppel, Anna Masiukiewicz, Clara Sharell, Emily Stevenhagen, Dax Niesten, and Noa Weijers
The opening event also included a musical performance held by the Spanish and latin folklore duo pakita y pon (Janire de Paz and Carolina Agudín).

More about 'Artists work in Horeca':
Our series of exhibitions, ‘Artists work in Horeca’, attempts to shine light on the combined work lives of young emerging artists, where artists often work in Horeca of cultural institutions to support themselves and their practices. We work together with different theatres displaying the work artists from their front-of-house team in a curated exhibition that uses the walls of their foyers. With this theme we aim to bring attention to the creative backgrounds of front-of-house staff who serve the public every day, within the framework of the building itself.
